As the end of the school year approaches, Year 6 students can become apprehensive about the move to secondary school.  Whilst we know that primary schools work closely with secondary schools to allay worries about transition, feedback suggests that parents and carers may not feel they know what to say to best support their child during the summer holidays.

For this reason, we are hosting a webinar, running twice over the break, to skill up families in how to manage worries about the transition to secondary school.  These are free online events which any interested party can register for, your school does not have to be signed up to Mental Health Support Team service to access this.   They will be hosted by Education Mental Health Practitioners from the Mental Health Support Teams in Schools and provide information and practical strategies to support parents and carers.

The webinar is set up so that parents will be able to see the presenters but not each other.  Microphones, cameras and chat functions have been disabled to protect privacy.
