Relationship and Sex Education 

You will have recently received a letter regarding information on the school's new Relationship and Sex Education Policy and planning that was agreed in March 2020 at a full Governors meeting. This letter can be accessed by clicking here.

Below are links to the teacher's planning outlining the 4 lessons that the children will receive in each year group in the Summer term.

As a school we have always taught sex education. The new scheme of work and the resources for the lessons outlined above have allowed us to make changes to our units of work. However, by the end of Year 6, the children will have gained the same amount of knowledge about sex education as that which was taught in previous years. The resources used in the new policy and scheme of work are newly published in line with the Department of Education guidance and recommendations for the primary phase.

You have the right to remove your child from the Sex education part of these sessions, these sessions are lesson 3 and 4 in Year 6 - please email the office to request that this happens.
