Rothley Church of England Primary (Academy)

"Working together to achieve value and recognise the strengths of all"

Our Vision Statement

To offer quality and breadth of P.E and Sport provision, including increasing participation in P.E. and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

Sports Premium

The Government is providing funding until 2020 which will be paid directly to the school for Head Teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all the children.

Schools will have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

Funding Allocation for 2013-2014

Our allocation for this academic year is £9535.00

How the funding is contributing to the increased quality and participation of PE and sport in our school

  • continue to employ a specialist sports coach to lead improvement in PE and school sport and work alongside teachers in lessons to increase their subject knowledge and confidence in PE
  •  provide cover staff to release teachers for professional development in PE and sport
  • buy into the South Charnwood School Sport Partnershipto enable staff to attend professional development in sport and PE
  • subscribe to the Youth Sport Trust
  • provide training and payment for Midday Supervisors to introduce playground games at lunchtimes.

The impact of Sports premium will be tracked by the PE Leader and will inform future planning and funding decisions.
