The Aim of the Eco Team is to make Rothley Primary School Academy a greener place to work in and lessen our carbon footprint by our actions.

We will achieve this by...

  • Keeping our environment free from litter
  • keeping fit by eating sensibly and walking to school where possible
  • recycle as much as possible at school and at home
  • save energy by turning off unnecessary electrical equipment
  • using water sparingly
  • resourcing the school in a environmentally sustainable way
  • joining nationwide environmental campaigns

We have made a great start planting trees, to create wooded areas and hedgerows to encourage and feed the wildlife in our school. The animals love it too.   Our fruit trees planted last year are in flower and we might get our first fruit in the autumn.  We are are always happy to receive donations of fruit trees to enhance our orchard.

We have created our first raised beds and are looking for seeds  or seedlings to plant if you have any to spare.
