"Working together to achieve value and recognise the strengths of all"
Physical education promotes physical skills and development, and knowledge of the body in action. It helps to develop pupils' physical competence and confidence and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities.
Physical education helps pupils to develop a positive attitude towards active and healthy lifestyle opportunities. It enables pupils to be creative, competitive and to face up to different challenges as individuals and in groups and teams.
At Rothley children have the opportunity to represent the school in various sporting activities. These include half termly inter-house competitions in football, hockey, basketball, cricket, rounders and athletics. Pupils also represent the school at various sporting festivals which are organised by the School Sports Partnership. These activites include: Multi-Sports, Multi-Skills, Tri-Golf, Football, Orienteering and Kwik Cricket.
